All3 awarded Innovate UK funding to develop coordinated robotic construction
20 Aug 2026, by All3
All3, the robotics company building an integrated process for delivering custom multi-family housing, has been awarded funding from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, to develop the collaborative control of its autonomous construction robot, Mantis.
The project will develop the technology that allows multiple Mantis robots to operate together as a coordinated fleet on a live construction site, with a latency measured in milliseconds. It runs for 12 months from August 2026.
Mantis is a purpose-built robotic platform that carries out installation, fastening, finishing, and inspection on site. Today, a single robot operates autonomously. This project takes the next step - enabling two or more to work together as one team, a critical capability for delivering buildings at the speed and scale the housing market requires.
The research focuses on three areas:
→ Fleet cooperation: multiple Mantis robots installing building panels together in a coordinated sequence.
→ Autonomous power: robots that swap and charge their own batteries, allowing continuous operation without manual intervention.
→ Digital verification: the as-built state of the structure checked against the building's digital model in real time.
Innovate UK contracted the funding directly with All3, a recognition of the maturity of the technology All3 is developing and its potential to address construction's long-standing productivity challenge.
"Coordinating multiple autonomous robots on a live construction site is one of the hardest problems in the field, and one of the most valuable to solve," said Napo Montano, Head of Mobile Robotics at All3. "Innovate UK backing this work reflects how far the technology has come, and how much it has the potential to change the economics of building."
The project builds on All3's integrated approach to construction, which combines AI-powered design, robotic manufacturing, and autonomous on-site assembly into a single integrated process - designed to deliver custom buildings faster and more economically than conventional construction.
All3 will run the project as a dedicated programme alongside its core operations, expanding its UK-based mobile robotics team to deliver it. The company's first building is due to break ground in Germany later this year.
All3 acknowledges the support of its investor SuperSeed, whose backing has contributed to reaching this stage.

About All3
All3 is a technology company developing a heavy-duty robotic platform for one of the largest and least-digitised sectors in the world - construction.
All3 has built a single end-to-end process from three integrated technologies. Its AI-powered design platform generates a fully coordinated building model in days rather than months. That model drives fabrication: robotic production in an All3 factory turns each building's unique design into custom timber components, made without the usual custom-build premium and to the precision the assembly stage requires. Mantis robots will soon assemble those components on site, faster than manual construction allows.
The integrated model is engineered to deliver cost savings of up to 10%, timeline reductions of up to 50%, and up to 25% less embodied carbon compared with traditional construction methods - without limits on form, function or appearance.
